01The story
The first orders, packed by hand.
Two friends, one shared complaint. We were tired of bulky powerbanks, tangled cables and being stuck beside a socket while everyone else got on with their evening.
A magnetic powerbank seemed like the answer, until ours was confiscated at airport security on the way into China because its certification could not be scanned. We came home with a dead phone and a clear problem to solve.
Getting it right took longer than expected. Early samples overheated, magnets failed through phone cases and entire batches failed tests we refused to compromise on.
The unit that finally passed everything is the one we sell today.

Our brand's history, from start till present.
On our way home from Shanghai, our bulky powerbanks were confiscated while our phones were nearly flat. With our boarding passes stored on them, that moment of panic made us take action to ensure nobody ever felt this way again.
By July of the next year, we had designed a power bank we thought to be perfect. But the sample we built was too bulky, overheated easily, and could not qualify for the coveted CCC certificate.
After nearly 14 failed samples due to various reasons and quality standards we enforced, the TechyBits Magnetic Powerbank V1 was created. Compact, verified, and cool to the touch, we had finally created the power bank we both envisioned.
By June 2024, we had finally launched in the USA. With a huge market, we managed to make record breaking sales especially among the China-Travelling community there.
Demand was obviously rampant, and feedback was hugely positive.
After strong momentum in the USA, a relative’s experience brought our attention back home. Their powerbank had been confiscated in China, reminding us that Singaporean travellers still faced the very problem we wanted to solve.
Later that month, our first Singapore order came in. It was just one unit, packed by hand at our kitchen table and sent to a fellow Singaporean. That single order marked the beginning of TechyBits in Singapore.
Then a third, for a friend, a partner, a parent, or a sibling heading overseas. That proved our dream was possible. To make something people loved to use.
The problem that made us start TechyBits had returned in the form of a new regulation involving QR codes. It soon became the reason customers pick us over a cheaper brand. We were the only ones in the market whose power banks were double verified with both CCC certification and a traceable QR code.
A community built worldwide, substantial amounts in sales, and the same quality standards in every box.
